I tried something new with my novel writing today. I wrote a 400-word summary of what I wanted to happen in a scene (it was somewhat of a battle scene, so it was pretty involved, and I kind of need a plan to deal with situations such as this) before writing it.
I think it really helped me, because I only focused on the information I needed to tell in that period of time, and didn’t get sidetracked with anything unimportant. Also, I ended up writing a lot more, volume-wise. Like 2300 words, just all at once. It was strange.
I’m starting to think I might actually get there.
