Recapping the Whirlwind.

So here’s what happened recently:

  • I landed a (paying) gig with the Change Companies in Carson City, Nevada. C C C C.
  • I flew to Michigan to spend Halloween with my best friends Ben Larson and Ben Larson (the female version). It was so worth it. My costume was the best.
  • I was bumped off the flight home on Sunday night, and had to spend my evening watching the World Series in a Best Western in Detroit.
  • Flew home, finished packing my essentials for the move.
  • My dad and I drove across the country. He took a picture of us standing on this salt flat in Utah. I am very enthused. Also I took a picture of this horse I saw. It can jump very high:
  • Arrived in Carson, began scouting for apartments immediately. I found one on the north end of town, about four minutes from work.
  • My first day at work happened. It was a lot of fun, and I met a lot of new and interesting people, some that I didn’t even meet when I flew out for my interview.
  • I got a bank account, and a new cell phone with a Nevada area code. It’s a Droid. I will make a post about this later.
  • Today was the last day of my first week at work. Currently I am a key contributor on two large projects and involved in organizing an even larger one. The brain hours I’ve put into this are staggering. I’m even braining on it now, which worries me, but I’m choosing to make sacrifices, even if it means not writing for a while.

    Holwerda misses you!

adam holwerda's brain itches My name is Adam Holwerda.

I make a living as a designer at a publishing company in Carson City, Nevada. Before that, I was an English major at Michigan State, and before that I was a high school student writing terrible novels.

I've continued to write, and some of that work has been not so terrible. I published some of it in a book earlier this year, and I'll be releasing another book at the front tip of 2010. You can still buy the other one, though, if you want. My father is a professional artist. My sister is an artichoke.

I write stories.
I drew comics.
I design t-shirts.
I make videos.
